Mask and Mien

albionchangedBeing a changeling, Esme has two appearances. Most see his mask, the automatic normal face that the Wyrd projects to keep his true nature hidden. His true form, created by his Fae master during his durance in Arcadia and accented by his subsequent escape, is called the mien and can normally only be perceived by other changelings, Fae, or those connected to the Wyrd in some major way. The mask can be pierced or shattered but generally, he will appear to be completely human in appearance and feel with the exception of a tell. The tell is a feature about his mien that bleeds through the mask a little. The mask is so sturdy that even death wouldn't dispell it.
Mask
Esme appears to be a sixteen-year-old teenage boy, despite actually being eighteen. He's only about 5'5" and has dark brown hair with hazel-colored eyes, and fairly tanned from lots of time spent outside. He's slim but not scrawny, weighing only 120 lbs and has a little bit of noticeable muscle. His teeth are a little sharper-looking than a normal persons, but not alarmingly so. His hair is somewhat unruly and has a sort of fluffy look to it, also being incredibly soft to the touch, and he has roughly the same amount of body hair stereotypical of a man in his mid-thirties to forties. There's always a very slight animal musk that clings to him, like someone who has just been playing with a pet briefly although the type of pet is hard to place. His posture is also somewhat slouchy if he isn't on alert, as though he'd rather be leaning on or hiding behind something.
Presently, he's usually found in an oversized hoodie, a loose-fitting shirt, baggy jeans, and sneakers.
Mien
Beneath his mask, Esme is unrecognizable as the human he once was. He's covered head to toe in incredibly dense, soft brown fur that's somewhat similar to a chinchilla. His ears are large and similar to a fennec fox's, poking out of his hair. His face has become a somewhat rodent-like muzzle, complete with large whiskers fitting for something like a mouse but lacking the signature overbite. Large flaps of furry skin attach his arms and legs like a sugar glider, and his hands and feet more closely resemble this animal than they do a human's. Lastly, he has a long fluffy tail. His mien is flexible and may change somewhat in line with experiences or affiliations, but will never stray far from this base.
These changes are completely cosmetic, and can't be seen or felt through his mask. If he scratches or bites someone then there's no more damage than if a normal person had done the same, unless he wants to inflict the extra damage. If he did do so, the mask would make said damage seem more plausibly explainable, like witnesses coming to the conclusion that he had to have had a weapon of some kind. If someone were to touch his skin, they'd feel human skin instead of fur, and neither his flaps nor tail can be felt normally.
